Reta Boychuk and the CANRVRSUP Instructors are excited to welcome you to the water! Sessions are offered through the summer on lakes and rivers, there are 11+ sessions offered for you to pick from based on your skill level. At CANRVRSUP our warm atmosphere and progressive step program will help you develop your SUP potential. Getting you ready for new rivers, multi-day adventures or surfing waves! We assure you there will always be a Paddle Canada certified coach on the water with you facilitating your learning in the safest manner possible. Flatwater Skill Level: Novice Pre-requisites: Basic use of a SUP Goal: Flatwater is one of the most important places to develop your paddle stroke! Considered by many river paddlers as an unnecessary place to practice, becoming skilled at a forward stroke and advanced strokes will allow you to progress much quicker on the current. Whitewater Wednesday Level # 1 (WWW1) Skill Level: Novice Pre-requisites: River SUP Intro or Next step or similar experience and the ability to Self-Rescue in Class I River environments Goal: Learning how to paddle in a river environment and beginning to feel comfortable with the skills involved to move around the river competently. Whitewater Wednesday Level #2 (WWW2) Skill Level: Intermediate Pre-requisites: River SUP Intro & Next step or similar experience, a proficient Self-Rescue in Class I and II River environments Goal: Competent and at ease in Class I-II water with the goal of progressing into more dynamic environments and being able to consistently demonstrate river skill technique. Whitewater Wednesday Level 3 (WWW3) Skill Level: Advanced Pre-requisites: River SUP Intro and Next step or similar experience, a Self-Rescue in Class I and II River environments repetitively and consistently, even when tired. Goal: The river environment is no longer a foreign place, you're competent at the skills needed to confidently move around it. If you’re looking to dial in your form, compete or take you river paddling to the next level this is where you belong. |
Time: Wednesdays 6:00 pm- 8:30 pm
Locations: Locations vary weekly between Harvie Passage Calgary - Pearce Estate Park Bow River In Calgary / Cochrane Ghost lake AB Schedules: A detailed schedule for each Wednesday will be released by March 15, 2022 to help you determine which ones will work best for you. The Whitewater Wednesday Pass: 3 sessions: $129 per person ($43 per session) +GST Drop-in: $50 per person +GST Gear rental for class: $20 + GST Board (only) rental for class: $10 +GST Weekly Pre-registration Pre-registration is required for each Wednesday a minimum of 24 hours in advance. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the session you will be expected to cover your spot. If you have a “Whitewater Wednesday Pass” you will receive an RSVP request each week on Monday by 10 am with a reminder of the details for that week. We ask that all RSVPs are submitted as soon as possible and before Tuesday at 6 pm. Drop-Ins Drop-Ins must pre-register by Tuesday at 6 pm by paying for their spot online. |
