Whitewater Wednesday Level #1 (WWW1) Skill Level: Novice Pre-requisites: River SUP Intro or Next step or similar experience and the ability to Self-Rescue in Class I River environments. Goal: Learning how to paddle in a river environment and beginning to feel comfortable with the skills involved to move around the river competently.
May 18 - Warm up w/ Reta - review the key river strokes and basic eddies and ferries find your feet and get ready for an amazing season May 18 SPECIAL EDITION - Flatwater Warm up w/ REBECCA - Review all the Advanced Flatwaterr strokes and warm up for your season! July 6 - Fine tune Ferries w/ Reta - work on better edge control and transitions across the current Aug 3 -Effective Eddy turns w/ Reta -dial in your draws and cross draws while working on correct angles for clean turns.
Whitewater Wednesday Level #2 (WWW2) Skill Level: Intermediate Pre-requisites: River SUP Intro & Next step or similar experience, a proficient Self-Rescue in Class I and II River environments. Goal: Competent and at ease in Class I-II water with the goal of progressing into more dynamic environments and being able to consistently demonstrate river skill technique.
May 11 - Warm up w/ Reta - Get the season started with a warm up of ferries, eddies and even a little surfing! May 25 - ON edge - getting on edge for more effective ferries and eddy turns find your balance and pressure control June 22 -Back from the races w/ Reta - learn to engage the blade and put power into all your movements, make more efficient moves by letting the paddle work for you. July 20 -SUP surfing w/ Reta - Weather its your first time or your 100th this coaching session will give you the tips to progressing up to your first SUP surf comp! Aug 24 - Dial Drops w/ Reta - Break down the key movements to clean drops and to drop into eddies!
Whitewater Wednesday Level 3 (WWW3) Skill Level: Advanced Pre-requisites: River SUP Intro and Next step or similar experience, a Self-Rescue in Class I and II River environments repetitively and consistently, even when tired. Goal: The river environment is no longer a foreign place, you're competent at the skills needed to confidently move around it. If you’re looking to dial in your form, compete or take you river paddling to the next level this is where you belong.
July 13 - Drop it Smooth 3 ways w/ Reta - Take your drops to the next level and learn to maintain your momentum through the drop and following wave train! Aug 10 - Prep for Kan fest get race ready. w/ Reta - Work on finding fast water and and head up gates training. Aug 31 - Pre provincial w/ Reta Keys to time trial success! paddle work out and key athlete tips.
