In the summer of 2015, love was in the air. It was a wicked hot day in Jasper, Alberta and Lake Edith couldn’t have looked more refreshing. When Amanda saw the assortment of SUPs at Transclid Adventures, it was love at first sight. No matter how hard she tried, she knew she couldn’t take her eyes off those SUPs. She had to rent one, and see what these long funky water boards were made of. This day was the start to the most committed, loving and adventurous relationship Amanda could have imagined.
After this feeling, she couldn’t have been more excited to start working the next summer at Translucid Adventures as a rental attendant and instructor. Between 2016-2022 Amanda progressed from a Basic Flatwater Instructor to a River 1 Instructor. Having a passion already for skiing and the outdoors, it was only natural that Amanda wanted to learn how to advance in SUP as much as she could. She is an absolute legend at CANRVRSUP for her surfing skills, calming presence and safety knowledge. She has a background in lifeguarding, first aid and is devoted to water safety. Amanda has your back on and off the water. She loves to try new things and challenge herself on the river and in races. In 2022, Amanda’s goals include competing in more races, beating Reta in a surf competition, and gong to the GoPro Mountain Games in Colorado. Locate her sharing her love for paddle boarding on the Athabasca River in Jasper! |
