Lisa was a reluctant river paddler, her famous last words to Reta were: “I’ll never do that crazy whitewater stuff you do”.
Yet here she is...she was introduced to SUP on the Coral Sea, Australia in 2014. Hooked from that first time, she took her Basic SUP Instructor in 2016 and then in 2020 became an Advanced Flat Water Instructor. Working her way through all the river skills to become a River 1 Instructor in 2022. Being an extroverted introvert, she’s happy being behind the scenes of CANRVRSUP writing content and helping out when needed. Have no fear though when it’s time to speak up and teach she does with gusto! Lisa is our Northern Alberta ally and runs her own company Paddle Athabasca when she’s not down near Calgary progressing her river technique and co-teaching.
