Course Description
This is a 3 evening progression with one of our River 2 instructors. They will introduce participants to working with the current at Harvies Passage. Goals The aim of this course is to introduce paddlers with good SUP Class I River skills and have a reliable self rescue to progress up to paddling comfortably in Class II River currents. This course not only focuses on skills, but on all the safety elements of paddling on the river. In this course, you will learn about stronger currents and river hazards. Outcomes In addition to reviewing all the fundamental skills similar to the SUP and SURF YOU CAN RVR CLINICS. After completing this course, participants can expect to feel comfortable scouting, and running drops while also linking skills together on Class II Rivers. They will understand the potential hazards the river poses, along with learn a variety of new skills that they can apply to running larger rivers and new rivers . Skills include self rescues, swimming in current, working with stronger eddy lines and current, running drops, linking skills, jet ferries. |
