Course Description
This is a two-evening or one day progression course with one of the amazing CANRVRSUP instructors. They will guide participants from flatwater to moving with the flow on Class I Rivers. Goals This course prepares participants with solid flatwater SUP skills to paddle comfortably in a river current. The course not only focuses on skill building, but important safety fundamentals of river paddling. Participants will learn about eddies and how to use them to stop and slow down, river hazards and how to avoid them, and required gear and logistics. Outcomes After completing this course, participants can expect to feel comfortable taking a personal (unguided) SUP trip on Class I Rivers. They will also have developed an understanding of the potential hazards, along with a variety of new skills that can apply to the moving water environment. Skills include eddies, ferries, and reading Class I Rivers. |
