Teen Camp Flat to Flow

Course Description
Get your tween started this summer with our team of progressive CANRVRSUP instructors in this beginner friendly camp. Participants will learn all the basic stand up paddle boarding and safety skills needed to start successfully paddling on flatwater and rivers.

Starting off with learning the flatwater skills needed to progress to the river, Teens will then learn to safely navigate the water on and off their boards by practicing swimming in moving water, paddling through drops and entering and exiting eddys. They'll learn safety techniques and equipment to help themselves and their new friends. Also learning to surf and making good decisions about paddling. 

Sample Day
10am dryland activities in park
12pm lunch
1pm swimming and rescue practice 
2:30pm paddling
3:30-45pm day wrap up

​Goals
This course aims to provide new tween paddlers with a solid foundation of basic flatwater skills, river specific skills and the safety required to paddle on the river  and motivation to keep progressing their paddling.

Outcomes
After completing this course, tweens can expect to feel comfortable paddling on flatwater and mellow current and will understand basic self-rescue skills, and paddle strokes needed to move safely and efficiently.
