Step 1: SUP Basics - Flatwater
After completing this course, participants can expect to feel comfortable taking a personal (unguided) SUP trip on flatwater and will understand basic self-rescue skills, and paddle strokes needed to move safely and efficiently on flatwater. |
Step 2: SUP Skills for Rivers or Races - Advanced Flatwater
After completing this course participants can expect to feel comfortable moving around on their boards, paddling in rough waters, and having a variety of more efficient turns to choose from. These skills will support their next steps whether they are towards the river, a race or an ocean adventure. |
Step 3: River SUP Intro - Class I River
After completing this course, participants can expect to feel comfortable taking a personal (unguided) SUP trip on Class I Rivers. They will also have developed an understanding of the potential hazards, along with a variety of new skills that can apply to the moving water environment. Skills include eddies, ferries, and reading Class I Rivers. |
