BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT MADE
THE 2023 SEASON POSSIBLE!

Let’s carry the stoke forward into winter….

Check out some highlights, tips, trips, new collaborations and more below:
Reta, Amanda and the CANRVRSUP Team taught more than 400 students Stand Up Paddle Skills. Courses varied from flatwater, rivers, instructor development, self-supported adventure and so much more!

This season we worked in collaboration with AQ Outdoors to lead River SUP Programs and we worked with the Rocky Mountain Canoe Club to help get more school groups on the water!

We could not be more excited about these collaborations and we can’t wait to see what develops next.

The Intro To RVR SUP Touring Trip was our season highlight. Led by Reta and Amanda, with support from Lisa and Sam. It is our signature and favourite trip that always leaves our clients planning their next self-supported river trip!

The Team also did some exploring and we can’t wait to share with you the new adventures for 2024. Before the season is over maybe you want to explore the warmer waters of Ecuador.

Are you a river stand-up paddler craving international travel, exciting adventures and paddling warmer water through jungles and mountains?  Then come with us to Ecuador!
We have teamed up with Abby’s Ecuador Tours to plan an epic adventure. The trip will include more than just paddling. Clients will get to see stunning locations, go to hot springs, visit wild monkeys and experience the diverse culture and food of Ecuador.

Events

It was a wild and wet summer of competitions, events and racing throughout Colorado, Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.

Each month we will feature one of these amazing events to help you get inspired through the winter to try racing or competing on your paddle board.

Reta and Amanda had many podium finishes this year!
CONGRATULATIONS LADIES!

Testimonials:

"Just wanted to say a great big THANK YOU for an awesome day on the water for our second course!! Amanda was truly great as a guide/instructor and her enthusiasm for paddling is contagious to say the least!! It was just me and my three other friends so we felt like we had hired a private lesson for the whole day?! When Amanda gets back from Colorado I'll be sure to check your website/schedule to book in for another course or possible group private lesson. Thanks again and hope Amanda is "sending it" down in Colorado!! "

"Learning to Paddle with the CANRVRSUP TEAM- “Hear me out”

"The instructors were warm, patient but direct, explaining the basics in gear to the more advanced in surf strokes necessary to enter the river.  We were like “this is why we need lessons” …. It was so helpful to have these multiple instructors guiding us, as a few of us took a few extra, unintended dips in the deep. Again, all necessary to be fully prepared for our pending river engagement."

Join us in Ecuador 2023

This trip will include more than just paddling. Clients will get to sight see stunning locations, go to hot springs,  visit wild monkeys and experience the diverse culture and food of Ecuador.

Actual product description:

This is more than just a cloth. This is the product of years of obsessing over a way to create a pee cloth that solves all of the problems of traditional pee cloth options. It is a real piece of gear (not an afterthought scrap or remnant of fabric) created out of a love for the community of people we serve and love for the wilderness experiences we seek.

Kula is perfect for all of life's adventures... you can even use it at home as a zero waste alternative!

The Kula Cloth™ has these unique features that make it an extremely intentional piece of gear:

- super absorbent (absorbs 10x its weight in water!) and soft

- advanced silver-infused, antimicrobial fabric

- eco-friendly non-toxic materials (Bamboo Viscose, Cotton, Organic Cotton, Polyester)

- durable and waterproof 'clean' side so your hand doesn't get wet

- easily snaps to backpack using plastic snaps

- 'double snap' allows cloth to hang while folded in half (so it doesn't touch pack and/or get dirty on the trail)

- easy to clean or rinse and quick to dry

- retro-reflective thread detail for locating it at night with your headlamp

- weight per cloth is .5oz

- proudly made in the USA

For more information about the use/care of a Kula, please read our FAQ here.

INTRO TO RVR SUP TOURING
Eight women came together, of all different skill levels, ages and backgrounds, for this unique experience. After a warm up paddle on Thursday near Rocky Mountain House, we set off into the wilderness on Friday. We paddled down the North Saskatchewan River from Nordegg access point to the Brierlies boat launch.

KOOTENAY RIVER 2023
As we paddled through the day we planned to stay upriver from the Palliser Rapid so we could start the day fresh and ready for a big run. Setting up camp for the night we began to notice that the water levels were rising. I marked the water level with a stick and we carried all of our gear up to the high water mark to ensure we would still have everything come morning.
